What to prepare before your website project
A clear brief, organized content, and a shared definition of success give your website a stronger start.

Map the journey
List the people who will use the website and the questions they need answered. Then define the main action you want them to take, such as requesting a quote or exploring your work. Use this to shape a simple page structure rather than starting with a long list of features.
Gather your content early
Prepare your logo files, service descriptions, contact information, project photography, and any approved testimonials. Check that you have permission to publish the material. Assign an owner for missing content and agree when it needs to be ready.
Separate essentials from later improvements
Decide which features are necessary for launch. A business website may need a clear service overview and reliable enquiry journey before it needs a complex portal. Record future ideas separately so the first release stays focused and the scope remains understandable.
Agree how you will check the result
Plan checks for mobile layouts, readable text, working links, forms, and page performance. Confirm who owns the domain, hosting, and ongoing updates. Define what support is included after launch so your team knows how to keep the site useful over time.
